O Neoliberalismo em crise:
construindo alternativas democráticas

As sociedades capitalistas contemporâneas enfrentam crises convergentes na economia, na democracia, na saúde, na reprodução social, no meio ambiente e em outras áreas, cada uma delas com implicações potencialmente graves. Este artigo delineia esses desafios para as economias capitalistas avançadas e para os países em desenvolvimento. Esse artigo argumenta que aqueles países estão sendo impactados, de diferentes maneiras, pela crise do neoliberalismo global, pela sua perda de hegemonia ideacional desde a Crise Financeira Global e por ameaças de instabilidade ainda maior devidas à desarticulação das economias neoliberais e às pressões sistêmicas devidas ao processo de mudança climática. Uma alternativa democrática é esboçada, a fim de delinear como essas dificuldades podem ser enfrentadas ao mesmo tempo em que se assegure melhorias nos padrões de vida da maioria da população.
