O artigo apresenta uma análise marxista da crise ecológica contemporânea, com foco na questão climática. São criticadas as propostas tecnocráticas de solucionar o problema do aumento da temperatura global por meio de investimentos financeiros e do emprego de tecnologias limpas, e analisadas criticamente as formulações que, oriundas do campo democrático, têm se voltado para a construção de um “New Deal Verde”. Argumenta-se que uma política ambiental socialista consequente não pode prescindir da conjugação entre revolução social e revolução ambiental, o que só pode ser feito no âmbito de um projeto de superação do capitalismo.
