The aim of this article is to examine how the struggles and forms of mobilization of the Chinese urban working class have transformed between 2010 and 2023, in accordance with changes in the class's own composition in the country. The article analyzes in detail how labor unrest has evolved in terms of intensity (volume), forms (strikes, protests, road blockades, etc.), sectors (primary, secondary, and tertiary), and geographic regions over the past fifteen years. It is argued that the observed transformations in labor struggles are closely tied to shifts in the very constitution of the working class, which has moved from a condition of semi-proletarianization to one marked by neoliberal precarity.
