Determining factors of Soviet Union economic deceleration

This paper finds and analyses the economic growth deceleration process faced by the former Soviet Union with the Marxist Political Economy as theoretical base. Its aim is to identify the causes of this process. Finally, we found that the establishment of the Coordinating Committee for Multilateral Export Controls by the United States, the exhaustion of the extensive component of economic growth, the restructuring of socialist production relations and the existence of particular circumstances which became an obstacle to the rising of productive force process in the USSR were the determining factors of its economic slowdown.
