Propriedade intelectual em perspectiva histórica
Abstract
The institution of TRIPS (The Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights) in 1994 represented a landmark in the international corollary for the treatment of intellectual property legal guidelines. The major changes that this agreement represented for the commercialization and regulation of intellectual property worldwide gave rise to a range of analyses and debates on the topic. In light of these changes, we will seek in our paper to understand the meaning and implications that this Agreement brings to capitalist economies through a historical perspective. That is, we will rescue the process of constituting intellectual property legislation until it reaches its most developed form, TRIPS. We will see with this that this Agreement represents another piece in the game of political disputes on the world stage.
